Position Overview:

As a Senior Accountant (AP-AR-GL), you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations for the company. This includes overseeing the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Manage the accounts payable process, including processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Review and verify all payment requests and ensure they are in compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries regarding payments and account balances.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing customers, processing payments, and maintaining accurate AR records.
  • Monitor and manage aging receivables, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Reconcile AR accounts and resolve discrepancies with customers when needed.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of accounts receivable and assist with collections efforts.

General Ledger (GL):

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure proper classification of transactions.
  • Review and reconcile GL accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Account Reconciliations: Review and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for all major accounts, including bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany transactions

· Financial Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings, audits, and internal controls. Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Monitor and report on variances and work with department heads to ensure financial targets are met

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting (UAE), with a focus on AP, AR, and GL functions.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.) and familiarity with other MS Office tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
