Troubleshooting Guide for Candidates

Welcome to Romania! This guide is designed to help you better understand what to expect and how to handle any issues that may arise during your employment.

1. Salary Information
  • Gross Salary: The total amount before taxes and social contributions are deducted.
  • Net Salary: The actual, smaller amount you will receive in hand, after taxes.
โš ๏ธ Gross salary appears on contracts and payslips. Confirm the net amount with your employer or agency.
2. Work Schedule

Standard schedule is 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Overtime may be required during peak times.

โœ… Overtime must be paid legally and fairly.
3. Accommodation

Free accommodation with utilities is provided. You may start in temporary housing if permanent housing isn't ready yet.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Be patient during this short transition to better conditions.
๐Ÿ›‘ Respect and maintain your living space.
๐Ÿงน Keep it clean and in good condition.
โš ๏ธ Disrespect may result in job termination.
4. Food and Meals

Companies offer a food allowance in one of these forms:

  • Cash
  • Meal vouchers
  • Prepared meals or ingredients (depends on job field)

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Minimum: 20 RON/day, can be higher based on the employer.

5. Problem-Solving & Reporting Issues

If you have issues with salary, food, accommodation, or work conditions:

  1. Report to your direct supervisor.
  2. If unresolved after one week, contact your recruitment agent.
๐Ÿ›‘ Adjust to standard living/working conditions.
Avoid escalating minor issues due to carelessness or comfort.

โœ… Be respectful, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

6. Arrival in Romania โ€“ Important Reminder

โœˆ๏ธ Upon arrival at the airport:

  • โœ… Wear agency-branded items (T-shirt, cap, etc.) to be easily recognized by staff.
7. Basic Self-Sufficiency Requirement

Upon entering Romania, you must have enough personal funds to cover basic needs for the first few days, including:

  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ Buying a local SIM card
  • ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Buying food and basic essentials for at least 5 days

Acceptable proof includes ๐Ÿ’ต cash, ๐Ÿ’ณ bank card with a statement, or ๐Ÿ“ฑ digital wallet with visible balance.

๐Ÿ‘ฎ Border authorities may request proof of funds on arrival.
